This organization is doing incredibly important work in our community, from mini grants to support waste reduction efforts to repair cafes and education efforts. Thanks for all you do!

This is NOT a good place to rent space from. My review is based on their "business" practices and interactions with Janet Llerandi Gonzalez, the business manager. I've rented space all over town and I've never felt so immediately bullied by anyone I've dealt with. Back in the fall I inquired about possibly renting event space -- turns out the inquiry form IS THE RENTAL AGREEMENT -- something I've never experienced. No offer to show me the space, to attempt to speak to me, just interest in gathering information = you've committed to pay for the space. Janet contacted me today, fewer then 10 days before dates I was interested in, to say that the balance is due + 50% fee for late cancellation. Apparently if I'd "cancelled" at least 10 days before there would've been no fee. But of course she waited to contact me until it was less than 10 days before. This feels predatory. As an organization, they've really lost their way.

I picked up a bin of reusable dishes from the EC for a small gathering at my house. I wanted to reduce waste and try out this free service that they offer. The dishes were very nice quality plastic, dishwasher safe plates, cups, bowls and flat wear. The plates have a nice small extension that makes them easy to carry while mingling at a party. Such a great way to reduce waste. Just plan on running them through the dishwasher pre and post. The bins are in sets of 25 and very easy to reserve at their website. My friends from Redmond were not familiar with the Environmental Center and asked if they were in Redmond as well. Might be a good idea.

We have numerous positive things to say about this organization but words to sum it up...beautifully soulful. The Environmental Center truly cares fostering community and sustainability in Bend. They are so kind and thoughtful when working with the youth it blows us away. If you’re going to support one place in Bend, make it The Environmental Center! We love them so much 😊
